Behind it is a third wagon outfitted with a steam apparatus. At the back left corner of the building, a horse stands in a stall. The paper sign over the buggy lists the location of alarm boxes around the city.
According to Hoye's City Directory of Lincoln for 1900, Horace Clement was the fire chief for Lincoln, Nebraska. LFD headquarters was located on the northwest corner of 10th and Q Streets, with additional fire stations at 2300 O Street, and 1225-1233 F Street.
