Charles W. Bryan was the publisher of "The Commoner." He served as mayor of Lincoln twice and Governor of Nebraska once. Charles was the younger brother of William Jennings Bryan who was the editor and proprietor of "The Commoner" and a three-time presidential candidate. Frank C. Goings held various positions on the Pine Ridge Agency in South Dakota, including chief of police, interpreter, and mayor. Goings also made a few trips to Europe with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.
