Street view of the E.R. Deputy Company building located at 227-231 N. 9th Street, Lincoln. The three-story building has display windows at the street level topped by rolled up striped canopies. Lettering on the front of the building offers" Wholesale hats, caps, gloves, and furnishing goods." On top of the building a large sign exhorts people to: "Wear Deputy hats." A World War I "Sons in Service" flag with two stars hangs in the left display window.
According to Lincoln City Directory, 1918, El Roy Deputy was President and Treasurer, George W. Becker was Vice President, and Orville D. Eaton was Secretary.
