This 9-1/4" x 7-1/4" black and white photograph shows a one-story brick building behind a larger brick school building. The building has large windows along the sides and a garage door in the corner. Although the roof of the building is flat, it has a few raised sections that are sloped on one side and have windows on the other.
Whittier Junior High School was located at 22nd and Vine Streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. The building was built in 1923 and used until 1977 as a junior high school. It was then used as an alternative high school until 1980. Whittier School was named for the American poet, John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892).
